Game Click and Collect

By 12th May 2017Blog

Ordered Lego Dimensions Lego City fun pack (£12.99) this morning – used click and collect.

Arrive at Waverley store to pick up at lunch time.

Product is in stock and on sale at £14.99.

Tell assistant I ordered via click and collect.

He says I need to wait until it comes in as click and collect is a different system.

I can buy from them, but need to pay £14.99.

I moan about price difference, but ultimately just pay for it and take it away.

He gives me number to call to cancel click and collect.

I phone it.

After 15 minute wait, customer service guy says he can’t cancel order as ‘it’s been released’.

Says I need to come back to the store, pick up the order and then get a refund.

I ask what ‘it’s been released’ means and why it prevents him cancelling the order.

It’s effectively ‘computer says no’.

Need to come back when it arrives at store, pick it up, and then get refund.

Good thing bricks & mortar game retail industry is so healthy just now that they don’t have to worry about processes that make it easy for a customer to buy a product.

Goodbye Game.

So, just a ten day delay on the refund.

Today’s lesson – never use Game click and collect.
